Participation

Teams invited by the organisation committee.
Teams having participated in previous editions and guaranteeing a team sponsor of at least Sfr 5.-/km or a fixed amount of CHF 1’000 or more.
20 teams with exceptionally high sponsoring.
Other teams according to the date of registration and guaranteeing a team sponsor.

All teams must have sponsorship. Inscriptions are limited to 150 teams. Teams will be accepted according to the following priorities until a maximum of 150 has been reached:

This being a race for charity, the organisation committee reserves the right to admit additional teams.

Team sponsoring

A sponsor agrees to pay a certain amount per kilometer covered by the team during 24Hours or a fixed amount. Any company or individual may sponsor teams.No exclusivity is given – with the exception that banking-&-finance-sector sponsors may not appear on the race-bibs.

Race bibs

One race bib per team. Paralympic teams may have additional bibs. Collection of dossards etc: Grande Salle de Villars, Friday 16th January 2009 : 17h00-21h00 and 17th January 2009 : 07h30-10h30 Please bring proof of payment / receipt when collecting your bibs.

Benefiting Charities

The totality of the collected team sponsoring will be donated to ‘SPRINGFIELD CLUB’ (UK) – a youth club for underprivileged children in London and ‘THEODORA' - a foundation that visits children in hospitals with clowns.

The minimum sponsorship requirement per team is CHF 1’000 (and CHF 500.- for 'School') category, whether through per kilometer or fixed amount sponsoring. The top teams cover approx. 320 km, Average distance is approx. 230 km. Teams without a team sponsor will not be accepted. The team sponsoring is given to the benefiting charities. A confirmation of donation will be sent to the team sponsor after the race. The team captain is responsible for the sponsorship amounts and for ensuring the total transference to Formula Charity after the event.

Inscriptions are only valid upon receipt of payment (except for paralympic inscriptions, which are free). The inscription fee, Swiss francs 80.- p/adult (cat. Open), Swiss francs 50.- p/school competitor (cat. School) must be paid by December 31, 2008 to:

100% of all voluntary additional contributions go to the benefiting charities. Inscription fees will not be reimbursed if the race does not take place but will go to the benefiting charities. The team captain is responsible for his team and for the payment of inscription fees. Please bring proof of payment / receipt when collecting your bibs.

Inscription fee covers:
Bib, breakfast buffet, concert of Saturday evening, souvenir. Reduced ski-passes for the weekend, for participants only, can be obtained when collecting the bibs. (SFR 55.- p/adult, SFR 45.- p/student).

Slopes

Daytime downhill: 6.25 km Roc d’Orsay Gondola arrival – Villars s/Ollon Gondola departure, via Bretayeor 6-man chairlift Grand Chamossaire (depending on conditions - see rules). Night downhill: 3.1 km Chaux Ronde, (Lac Noir 4 person chairlift), fully lit.
